What has changed in Afisena, and what it means for your school.

  1. A whole class's marks on one screen

Teachers no longer have to open each test in turn to see how the class is doing.

Until now, seeing how a class was doing meant opening every test one at a time and keeping the total yourself. There is now one screen that shows all of it.

Gradebook sits on each subject's page, next to the Analytics button. It shows:

    • every student down the side, every assessment across the top — tests, assignments and school exams
    • an average per student, and a class average per assessment
    • a filter by class
    • a CSV or Excel download, for carrying into whatever your school reports with

A blank cell is not a zero. This is the part we thought about hardest. There are four reasons a mark can be missing, and they do not mean the same thing:

    MarkMeaning
    —not submitted
    ⋯submitted, waiting to be marked
    ○not due yet
    ·not assigned to that student

Averages skip all four. If your school counts unsubmitted work as zero, there is a checkbox for that — and work that is not due yet still stays out, because nobody has failed to do anything yet.

Subject teachers, co-teachers and graders can open it. Observers cannot.
